Located just 35 km from Melbourne CBD, WPNEC is Victoria's premier equestrian venue and one of Australia's largest equestrian facilities, featuring 181 permanent stables, 396 day yards, 375 campsites, two indoor arenas, multiple outdoor competition arenas and an international cross country course.

Welcome to the Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre (WPNEC), the home of the 2026 Australian Interschool Championships.

Arrival Information

Please note our PIC Number required for Interstate Travel: 3WCHT039

On arrival at the Werribee Park entrance gate, competitors will be directed to the designated arrivals check-in area.

A veterinarian will be present at arrivals to take each horse's temperature and assess their general condition before entry.

Once the horse has been checked and unloaded, the horse handler will be directed to take their horse to their allocated stable or yard. The vehicle driver will then be directed to their allocated campsite by one of our Werribee Park grounds team members, who will be wearing high-visibility clothing.

If you have any questions or require assistance during arrival, please speak with the Werribee Park grounds team in your team's designated area.

Promo & Photo Opportunities

You may see competitors and teams using the Bruno Lawn, as marked on the venue map, for promotional and social media photography throughout the event.

If using the Bruno Lawn for photos, please:

  • Keep horses walking only while on the lawn.

  • Do not allow horses to graze.

  • Use the lawn for photography purposes only.

  • Please be mindful of other competitors and keep photo sessions brief where possible.

Accessibility Information

Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre is committed to providing an accessible and inclusive environment for competitors, spectators and support crews.

The venue will be hosting All Abilities classes as part of the Championships.

Accessible facilities, including accessible toilets and designated parking areas, will be identified on the event venue map.

If you or a member of your team has specific accessibility requirements, please speak with your Team Coordinator or contact Werribee Park prior to arrival so we can assist where possible.

Manure & General Venue Etiquette

Competitors and support crews are responsible for keeping their stable, yard and campsite areas clean and tidy throughout the event.

  • Please pick up manure regularly from yards, stable areas and communal areas.

  • Do not leave manure in walkways, parking areas or around campsites.

  • Please place manure in the designated manure collection areas provided around the venue.

  • Keep bedding and other waste contained within your allocated stable or yard.

  • Please do not place manure, bedding, food or other waste down drains or into wash-bay drainage systems.

  • Keep campsites and surrounding areas free from rubbish and dispose of waste in the designated bins.

  • Dogs must remain under control and owners are responsible for cleaning up after them.

🔥 Campfires

Campfires are not permitted. Parks Victoria regulations are strictly enforced across the property.

💧 Water

Water taps are located throughout the property. However, water access cannot be guaranteed at an individual campsite or for exclusive use.

Contact Details

For questions or assistance during the event, competitors should first approach their Team Coordinator. Team Coordinators will be able to assist with general enquiries and, where necessary, direct questions to the appropriate Werribee Park or event contact.

For additional bedding, purchases can be made from the Werribee Park office, located next to Mal Byrne's Saddlery.

Stables & Campsites

Stable and campsite bookings are managed by WPNEC

Details to note when Booking:

  • All Bookings are made online and payment is required at the time of booking.

  • Stable, campsite and yard allocations cannot be selected. These will be allocated by your state’s team manager.

  • Additional bedding can be purchased and added to your booking or during the event.

  • Refund cut-off period:

    11th September

Campsites:

  • Powered campsites are limited and the venue will be running generators for approximately 200 powered sites.

  • Our permanent powered sites are equipped with 15-amp power outlets.

Stables:

  • Competitors are responsible for keeping their allocated stable clean and tidy throughout the event. Team Coordinators will monitor the care of horses throughout the event, including water refills and ensuring horses have adequate food and supplementary feed to support their nutritional needs, particularly given the limited forage available within a stable environment.

    Werribee Park supplies bedding for the event, with additional bedding available for purchase from the Werribee Park office. We recommend allowing for a minimum of six bales of shavings per stable due to the cobblestone or concrete stable floors.

    At the conclusion of the event, competitors are not required to clean out their stable. Please simply shut the stable door and leave all used bedding inside.

    Competitors must remove all personal belongings, rubbish and decorations from their stable at the conclusion of the event. All decorations must be removed and must not cause any damage to the stable or venue infrastructure.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The official bump-in day is Saturday 26 September. During the booking process, you will be able to select your preferred arrival time for this day.

  • Following the event, the venue will be undergoing pack-down and maintenance, with heavy machinery operating throughout the grounds. For safety reasons, all competitors, support crews and campers must vacate the property by Friday 2 October.

  • Please provide an accurate description of your vehicle during the booking process. This will help us allocate the most suitable campsite for your vehicle. We have a number of extra-long powered and unpowered sites available for larger trucks and horse transport vehicles.

  • No. We offer both powered and unpowered campsites. Powered sites are limited and must be selected during the booking process.

  • Yes. Generators are permitted; however, if you require mains power, powered campsites are available and can be selected during the booking process.

  • Yes. Dogs are welcome at the venue but must be kept on a lead at all times. Dogs are not permitted in the Civinex Paddock (cross-country course) or inside the indoor arenas. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs and ensuring they remain under control and do not cause a disturbance to other competitors, horses or visitors.

  • Stable bedding will be supplied by Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre. We recommend a minimum of six bales of shavings per stable to provide adequate bedding, as stable floors are either cobblestone or concrete.

  • The nearest supermarkets are located in central Werribee, approximately 11 minutes from the venue. These include ALDI, Coles, Woolworths and FoodWorks.

  • 7-Eleven – approximately 7 minutes from the venue.

    Ampol (via the M1) – approximately 14 minutes from the venue.

  • The General Purpose Arena and the Civinex arena will be available for exercising horses throughout the event, unless otherwise advised by event officials.
